Who I am...

Hi, I'm Marcia (aka the Lucky Counselor) – A woman of mixed heritage, born in the U.S. and shaped by experiences in both the U.S. and Vancouver, BC. My journey has been defined by overcoming personal challenges such as anxiety, depression, discrimination, and family trauma, which have deeply influenced my purpose. I’m dedicated to helping others find validation, ownership, and actualization, and to guiding them toward a future filled with hope and possibility.

With an educational background that includes a Diploma in Addictions Counseling, a Bachelor's in Psychology, and specialized training in trauma-informed practices, I am a Registered Professional Counselor in British Columbia, as well as a certified counselor in the U.S. Over the past 19 years, I’ve worked in diverse settings—from residential treatment centers to psychiatric facilities—helping individuals and families navigate addiction, mental health struggles, and trauma.

I believe in the freedom of living authentically, without being confined by societal norms or imposed standards. My approach is rooted in respect for each person’s unique journey and a commitment to empowering individuals to take control of their personal and professional growth. I reject limiting labels and work to create safe, authentic spaces for clients to explore and develop their full potential.
